Wow!!! Oscars coming! Here is our 2017 Oscar predictions for best actor, actress, director and movie. The golden statuettes are desired by every person in the tinsel town. Year after year the quality of pictures and the actors and actresses are increasing and everyone of them seems to be deserving. The award season has already begun. The performances are complete and everyone of them seems to be truly exhilarating.
Cannes and Sundance have already credited the worthy and it is time for – the Oscars, 2017. The most desired awards of Hollywood and one of the most awaited too. The 89th Academy Awards has been scheduled on February 26, 2017 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
Here is a list of 2017 Oscar predictions for the four most sought awards of – though the best seem to be changing everyday!

Best Actress – Emma Stone
The front-runner for the best actress seems to be Emma Stone for her performance in ‘La La Land’. Stone has already won the Best Actress in Toronto and Telluride for her amazing performance as a singer-dancer-actress in the ‘La La Land’. Not far behind is actress from the December 9, 2016 release ‘Jackie’ – Natalie Portman. Natalie plays the role of Jake Kennedy, the late first lady of Unites States of America. Ruth Negga is another front runner for her role in ‘Loving’ as Mildred Loving. Lining up is Isabelle Huppert for her acting in ‘Elle’, the French actress has done an incredible job as a rape victim who refuses to be defined as the word abuse.
Best Actor – Casey Affleck
There is a tough competition between Casey Affleck for his outstanding performance as a Boston janitor deliberated by depression, anger and sorrow in Lonergan’s Manchester by the Sea’ and Denzel Washington for his role in ‘Fences’ as an ex-baseball slugger who played for Pittsburgh and was then turned to a garbage man. Next in line is Joel Edgerton for playing Richard Loving in Jeff Nichols’ movie ‘Loving’. Edgerton has indeed given a rich performance, he has always been appreciated for his supporting roles in ‘The Great Gatsby’ and ‘Black Mass’. Fingers crossed on whether or not Joel Edgerton will take the golden Oscar home. Two more frontrunner’s in the 2017 best actor prediction list are Ryan Gosling for his role in ‘La La Land’ and Tom Hanks for his acting in ‘Sully’. Predictions also have the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ star Dev Patel for his splendid performance in ‘Lion’.
2017 Academy Award Predictions – Best Picture
Starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling the musical comedy written and directed by Damien Chazelle ‘La La Land’ is on the front row for Best Picture in 2017. ‘La La Land’ story is about two aspiring actors who fall in love in Los Angeles. Another frontrunner is the heart touching emotional story of a janitor starring Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan. Hopping in the list of leads in the historical drama ‘Loving’ starring Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton who already seem to be gathering quite a number of votes as best actress and best actor respectively. The movie has been written and directed by Jeff Nichols and has been released by Focus Features in the United States on November 4, 2016. Also Denzel Washington’s ‘Fences’ written by August Wilson and directed by Denzel himself, is a heart-warming story of a baseball player who is now a trash collector struggling to look after his family, is gathering praises and is being seen as the frontrunner for the best picture.
89th Academy Awards Predictions – Best Director
‘La La Land’ seems to be everywhere, the much acclaimed movie is also being seen as a possibility to grab the Oscar for director Damien Chanzelle. Under Kenneth Lonergan’s powerful direction ‘Manchester by the Sea’ is also being seen as a potential winner for the best director in 2017 awards. The polished interracial marriage drama ‘Loving’ is also in the leading list and is thought to get an Oscar to Jeff Nichols in this category. Director David Mackenzie has also managed to draw the attention of the critics for his movie ‘Hell or High Water’, a story about brothers who are bank robbers and are being tracked down by a Texas Ranger.
